However, the tendency of reciting the Qur'an in the contemporary era that focuses more on the aesthetic aspects of sound and ignores the dimensions of understanding, order, and adab in reading becomes the main crisis in reciting the Qur'an. Therefore, this paper contributes to revitalizing the concept of tartīl in contemporary recitation practices to bring it back in line with the values of the Qur'an. This study utilises library research with a thematic interpretation approach and semantic-linguistic analysis of QS. al-Muzzammil [73]: 4. This study analyzes the meaning of tartīl in QS. al-Muzzammil [73]: 4 according to two prominent mufasirs, namely al-Ṭabarī and al-Nasafī, and compares it with the views of classical qirā'āt scholars. The results of the study indicate that tartīl, according to the majority of mufassir, encompasses aspects of clarity of recitation, calmness, orderliness of verses, and depth of meaning. Additionally, according to scholars of qira’at tartīl, it involves reciting the Qur’an slowly, clearly, and in a structured manner, with full contemplation. Concrete steps for revitalizing tartīl include strengthening Quranic education based on tartīl in formal and non-formal institutions, training Quranic recitation teachers who integrate aspects of tajwīd and tadabbur, developing educational digital media that promote the values of tartīl, the establishment of standards and certification for tartīl recitation, and the cultivation of tadabbur within Muslim communities through meaningful halaqah and tilawah gatherings. The revitalization of tartīl in the contemporary era must be based on a holistic understanding to maintain a balance between the speed of recitation and the quality of pronunciation and the contemplation of meaning.
2025-11-25T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://www.jurnalalmunir.com/index.php/al-munir/article/view/2393 CELEBRITY WORSHIP AS A MANIFESTATION OF ḤAMIYYAH JĀHILIYYAH IN THE POST-TRUTH ERA DOUBLE MOVEMENT ANALYSIS OF QS. Unwittingly, Celebrity Worship has become one of the manifestations of Hamiyyah Jahiliyyah in today's era, especially the post-truth era. This attitude is a threat to oneself because it is not by Islamic teachings. Individual fanaticism towards a person or group causes the truth to become unclear and forms a character that always feels the most in everything as explained in QS. Al-Fath [48]: 26. This article is a literature study analyzed with Fazlur Rahman's double movement theory to find out how the phenomenon of Celebrity Worship is viewed from the perspective of the Qur'an and how the correlation between Celebrity Worship and Hamiyyah Jahiliyyah. Likewise to see the cause and effect and how to avoid the attitude of Celebrity Worship. This study found that there is a correlation between the attitude of Celebrity Worship and Hamiyyah Jahiliyyah in terms of the characteristics that appear such as fanaticism to the level of worship, arrogance, and feeling the most in everything. Some things that influence the emergence of Celebrity Worship are age, education, social skills, and gender. The peak effect of this attitude is shirk because of the worship of individuals or groups so that they forget things related to divinity, especially in the post-truth era where the truth is unclear.
2025-12-07T22:54:54+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://www.jurnalalmunir.com/index.php/al-munir/article/view/2483 FROM SCRIPTORIUM TO DIGITAL ARCHIVE: The Transformation of Qur’anic Philology in The Technological Era 2025-12-12T23:07:12+07:00 Lia Khoirotun Nisa’ liakhoirotunnisa3@gmail.com Abdul Mufid abdulmufid@iaikhozin.ac.id Muhammad Syaiful muhammadsyaiful@iaikhozin.ac.id
Digital transformation has profoundly influenced the practice of Qur’anic philology, a discipline focused on the critical study of the history of transmission, authenticity, and reading variants of the sacred text. This study aims to analyze the impact of advancements in digital technology on working methods, source accessibility, and the repositioning of scholarly authority within Qur’anic philological studies. Using a literature review method and a historical comparative approach applied to twenty primary and secondary sources including digital case studies such as Corpus Coranicum and e-Mushaf this research examines how traditional methods once centered in scriptoriums have undergone transformation through digital archive platforms and modern analytical tools. The findings indicate that digitalization not only expands the global reach of Qur’anic manuscript preservation and distribution but also introduces epistemological challenges, such as textual decontextualization, digital literacy gaps, and shifts in authority from classical scholars and philologists to technology developers and digital curators. On the other hand, digitalization fosters unprecedented cross-disciplinary and transnational collaboration, while simultaneously demanding renewed reflection on methodological principles and scholarly ethics. As a conceptual contribution, this study proposes a framework for Digital Qur’anic Philology (DQP), emphasizing the integration of traditional textual precision with contemporary technological capabilities. The study concludes that digital archives function not merely as tools for preserving textual heritage, but also as catalysts for shaping new epistemic horizons in Qur’anic studies. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy and epistemological awareness becomes essential for safeguarding the authenticity and integrity of Qur’anic philology in the technological era.
2025-11-14T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://www.jurnalalmunir.com/index.php/al-munir/article/view/2454 CONTEXTUALIZATION OF THE CONCEPT OF AT-TAMATSIL IN THE STORIES OF THE QUR'AN: Perspective of Maqashidi Interpretation 2025-12-12T23:13:07+07:00 Aan Andersa hartatiyuningsih58081@gmail.com Hartati Yuningsih hartatiyuningsih58081@gmail.com
This study examines the contextualization of the concept of at-Tamatsil in the stories of the Qur'an, noted in the Qur'an its application contains contradictory where applied as an object of theology in the story of the people of prophet Ibrahim and on the other hand applied without involving theological elements applied by prophet Solomon. The purpose of this research is to see the maqashid of the word at-Tamatsil in the stories of the Qur'an by using the maqashidi interpretation method. Nurun Alan Nurin PK nurunalan1512@gmail.com Miatul Qudsia miatul@uicordoba.ac.id Muhammad Syahru Irfani syahruirfani182@gmail.com
The hadith regarding preferences in choosing a life partner, which states, "Women are married for four reasons..." is often interpreted in a partial and hierarchical manner, where physical aspects such as beauty, wealth, and lineage are positioned equally or even above religious values. This textual-literal interpretation tends to reproduce patriarchal norms and disregards the historical context in which the hadith was revealed. This study aims to reinterpret the hadith through the philosophical hermeneutics of Hans-Georg Gadamer, emphasizing pre-understanding and the fusion of horizons between the text and the reader. A qualitative-critical approach is employed, drawing on classical (turāth) and contemporary literature as the foundation for analysis. The findings reveal that religion, as mentioned in the hadith, is not merely one of four equal considerations but represents a normative critique against the materialistic and status-driven tendencies of Arab society at the time. Non-physical criteria such as moral integrity, responsibility, and mutual respect are identified as the essence of religious values to be prioritized. Through Gadamerian hermeneutics, this hadith can be contextualized as an ethical guideline for establishing marital relationships that are balanced, just, and free from patriarchal domination. Thus, this study offers an alternative, reflective, and contextually grounded interpretation of the hadith, reaffirming the importance of religious values in contemporary social practice.
2025-12-12T23:18:50+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://www.jurnalalmunir.com/index.php/al-munir/article/view/2127 THE CONCEPT OF EDUCATION IN THE QUR’AN FOR CHILDREN WITH UNKNOWN PATERNAL IDENTITY: a Thematic Interpretation of The Story of Maryam and Isa As 2025-12-12T23:25:06+07:00 Jaya Sukmana assyuga_ast@yahoo.com Aris Setyawan aris.setyawan@asy-syukriyyah.ac.id
A father's identity is often considered a crucial element in shaping a child’s character and social integrity, whereas the absence of a paternal figure frequently results in stigmatization that impacts the child’s psychological well-being within society. The Qur’an presents the birth of Prophet Isa AS without a father as a divine miracle and simultaneously as a transformative narrative to address social pressure and stigma toward children without known paternal identity. This study aims to explore the educational concept within the Qur’an through the story of Maryam and Prophet Isa as a foundation for instilling spiritual, moral, and social values in children born outside of conventional family structures. Employing a narrative literature review approach and a thematic interpretation strategy (tafsir maudhū‘i), this research analyzes secondary sources including Qur’anic verses, classical and contemporary exegetical texts, and scholarly literature in the fields of Islamic education, child developmental psychology, and social theory. The findings reveal that Maryam’s story embodies values of compassion-based education, spiritual empowerment, and liberation from social stigma, while the figure of Isa represents the potential of a child in a non-ideal context to grow optimally through nurturing rooted in faith and divine values. This article offers a conceptual contribution to the development of an inclusive Islamic educational paradigm that is responsive to diverse family structures and proposes an applied model of Qur’anic interpretation to address contemporary social issues faced by marginalized children.

2025-12-12T23:25:06+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://www.jurnalalmunir.com/index.php/al-munir/article/view/1965 THE REASONS FOR REVELATION ACCORDING TO THE PERSPECTIVE OF CLASSICAL AND CONTEMPORARY MUSLIM SCHOLARS 2025-12-13T00:05:47+07:00 Husna Nadia nadiahusna3108@gmail.com
There are many scholars who have differing opinions in defining the reasons for revelation, including Az-Zarqani, Ash-Shabuni, Shubhi Shaleh, and Manna’ Khalil Al-Qattan, among others. However, although the wording of these definitions varies slightly, they all conclude that Asbab an-Nuzul refers to the events or incidents that serve as the background for the revelation of Quranic verses, aimed at responding to, explaining, and resolving issues arising from those events. The reasons for revelation serve as a historical source that provides explanations for the revelation of Quranic verses and offers contextual understanding of its commandments. This article aims to explore the definition of the reasons for revelation from classical to contemporary muslim scholars, highlighting its significance and the importance of its study. It employs library research to examine various scholarly opinions on the reasons for revelation. This study is highly beneficial in understanding the context of revelation, applying Quranic verses to different cases and situations, and reducing the likelihood of misinterpretation, which increases when the historical background of the reasons for revelation is ignored. In conclusion, although scholars define the reasons for revelation in different ways, they all ultimately agree that it refers to the events or incidents that serve as the background for the revelation of Quranic verses.
2025-12-13T00:05:47+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://www.jurnalalmunir.com/index.php/al-munir/article/view/2353 COMPILATIVE-VERNACULAR TAFSĪR TARJUMĀN AL-MUSTAFĪD “Analysis of Sources, Methods, and Contextualization in Khazanah Islam Nusantara” 2025-12-14T10:43:08+07:00 Al Fahrizal alfahrizal@mhs.ptiq.ac.id Khofawati Khoiriyyah khofawatikhoiriyyah@mhs.ptiq.ac.id
Tarjumān al-Mustafīd, a monumental work by Abdur al-Rauf al-Sinkili, is the first complete Qur'anic exegesis in the Malay language and a milestone in the intellectual history of Southeast Asian Islam. This qualitative research comprehensively analyzes the book's sources, methods, and style through library research and content analysis. The results show that Tarjumān al-Mustafīd is not a translation but an original compilation-synthesis of various sources, including Tafsīr al-Khāzin, al-Bayḍawī, and al-Jalālayn. Its method combines ijmālī (global) and tahlīlī (analytical) approaches, making it accessible yet substantial. Its style is general, covering Ash'arī theology, Shafi'ī jurisprudence, and ethical Sufism. Its genius lies in the process of vernacularization that made the Qur'an relevant to the Malay community. In conclusion, this work is best described as a compilative-vernacular exegesis whose originality lies in its creative synthesis and brilliant contextualization for its local audience.
2025-12-14T10:43:08+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://www.jurnalalmunir.com/index.php/al-munir/article/view/2168 TAFSIR ESKATOLOGIS: Studi Manuskrip Abad ke-19 di Palembang 2025-12-14T10:49:23+07:00 Maulida Putri 2420080027@uinib.ac.id Lathifah Nafsi 2420080009@uinib.ac.id Syafira Mardhotilla Wahyuni 2420080002@uinib.ac.id
This research is a philological study of a classic manuscript on the theme of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah creed from the collection of Kemas Haji Andi Syarifuddin.
